HOW CAN THERAPY HELP YOU

Individual Therapy
Through individual sessions, we will meet one-on-one to discuss any issues that you are struggling with. The goal is for you to feel comfortable and safe to discuss underlying issues that are contributing to your difficulties. I will guide you in exploring your emotions and fears with conviction, in order for you to gain an understanding of self.

Family/Couples Therapy
One of the most difficult aspects in relationships and/or within your family, is establishing effective communication between one another and being able to discuss issues effectively. You will be able to talk about any current or re-occurring topics or issues that may need to be worked though. In addition, you will learn healthy communication styles and gain a better understanding of one another.

Group Therapy
Group therapy is a powerful form of therapy for people to realize that they are not alone in whatever they may be struggling with, and it allows you to connect and relate to others with similar issues. Knowing that you are not alone, can provide comfort and support when working through any challenges that you are facing.

Teen/Adolescent
Teenagers today are under an incredible amount of pressure. The adolescent years are a struggle between autonomy and independence. Teens want to be on their own, but do not yet possess all the skills necessary. A child’s adolescent years are naturally so turbulent they can provoke anxiety, confusion and pressure. I work to help teens struggling with depression, anxiety, social skill deficits, trauma, divorce, stress management, relationship issues, and addiction/recovery problems, behavior problems, anger issues, among others. I believe in empowering adolescents by providing them with the tools they need to effectively navigate the journey from teen to young adult.

Signs That Your Teen May Need to Speak to Someone:
- Sleep problems – either insomnia or sleeping too much
- Either not eating or overeating
- Food restricting, binging and purging, excessive exercise
- Irritability
- Anxiety, not being able to relax or have fun, obsessive thinking
- Crying and persistent sadness
- Feeling exhausted all the time
- Isolation – from family and friends
- Lack of motivation in school
- Losing interest in previously enjoyed activities
- A feeling that there is no meaning, what’s the point?
- Feeling sick often, body aches, unexplained pain, stomach aches, headaches.
- Cutting (self harm that is not lethal – this is often on the sides of the thighs or the arms).
